5 Tips For The Omega European Masters
Wed 31st August, 2011
Each way return! Bookies who offer each way payments to Top 6 players would have seen a return this week with Stephen Gallagher finishing Tied 6th. A £10 stake would have returned £46.25 taking my returns for the season to £307 from £80 staked, a profit of £227.
This week we have the Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland and it has attracted a big name field with the likes of Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy returning to European soil.
Lee Westwood - 10/1
Knowing that he has finished another season without a Major will have no doubt made Lee all the more determined to add to his ever growing collection of European Tour titles. His ball striking is still up there with the best in the business and if he can find a bit of form with the flat stick he should be floating round the top come Sunday.
Miguel Angel Jiminez - 25/1
Miguel loves the Swiss people and they have embraced him as one of their own. With the crowd cheering him on and fond memories of his victory here last year, he may just be lurking around the top 5 at the weekend.
Alex Noren - 33/1
The big hitting Swede is having an outstanding season having already notched up a victory in Wales and in his home country Sweden. Won his first ever European Tour title here in 2009 so its fair to say he knows his way around this golf course.
Edouardo Molinari - 40/1
Not having the best of times at this year but showed promising signs last week at Gleneagles, particularly with the putter. With his brother and Matteo Manassero enjoying better seasons I'm sure he will be keen to fly the Italian flag and play catch up with his counterparts.
Pablo Larrazabal - 50/1
Seems like great value at fifties considering he finished in a tie for 2nd at Gleneagles and is enjoying one of his best seasons to date on the European Tour. If the exuberant Spaniard can keep his emotions in check and continue his current form he may just be there or there abouts.
